This page is just my quiet spot on the internet to share more about me. This page may even outlast me, might as well write my own story.

Me Now

My next great adventure right now is buying a business. I want more independence and resilience for my family.

My career thus far has been in two phases. The first was commissioning and running a $600 million state-of-the-art ammonia plant in Freeport, TX. That was pretty phenomenal.

The second phase was becoming a data scientist. I always gravitated towards wrangling chaotic data to make a story. I got my masters in Data Science and now I rollout AI chat agents and machine learning models for chemical plants.

Me Then

I was born in 1990 in Pittsburgh, PA. My parents immigrated to New York City from Guatemala and Peru. I grew up with a love of sports and music. Disc golf, ultimate, soccer, cross country, or swimming was pretty much every weekend. I probably took on too much. I picked up the clarinet and ended up as Drum Major in the marching band my senior. I also ended up an Eagle Scout. All to say, I'm a very fortunate guy to be blessed with a loving two-parent household with a sibling and supportive community.

I left for college to Texas A&M University without having ever been to Texas. The spirit of the campus pulled me in. I have lifelong friends of all persuasions and walks of life from that time. Besides studying chemical engineering, I loved my time with Engineers Without Borders. We built a school house for kids in Costa Rica among other projects. Student Engineers' Council was also a huge endeavor. Can you believe they let the students run the Engineering Career Fair. We were very proud of that among all the other benefits we were able to build for students.

Family First

My wife and kids are my "why". All my effort is for them. My ideal self at 80 is being at a grandkid's wedding or ordination every year.

Jack of all Trades

I tend to obsess over a single topic at a time, go deep, and then move on the next thing. Investing, competitive cycling, carpentry, financial systems, hand-pulled noodles, 3D printing, kinetic sculpture, you get the idea. I've noticed this tendency also in my career, and maybe I'm just noticing that I should have started on the entrepreneurship track sooner.
